Principles:

  1. Saphenous trunks first

  2. Saphenous tributaries second

  3. Non-saphenous third

  4. Thigh before leg

  5. large veins before small veins

  6. Immediate compression

  7. Immediate Ambulation

 

 Indications:

  • Persisting symptoms for more than 6 months despite conservative measures
  • Appearance
  • Complications (phlebitis, bleeding, pigmentation, ulcers….)
  • To prevent consequences if left untreated
  • Family history of complicated varicose veins
