Patients may present for
treatment with one or more
of the following

Pain (aches, throbbing, night cramps, fatigue,
heaviness, restlessness). Pain is usually worsened by prolonged
standing, menstruation and hot weather and relieved by elevation

Skin Changes (pigmentation, ulceration)
-
Superficial thrombophlebitis (STP): painful
inflammation and clotting of the superficial veins

Consequences of leaving the
veins untreated

Family
history of
complicated varicose veins
